ROBERT E. LYNK, DVM
November 12, 1932 – April 13, 2021
Member of AAG 1998-2021
After 37 years as a respected and innovative veterinarian, Bob was well-acquainted with the barns, flora, fauna, and scenic vistas of New York’s Catskill and Helderberg Mountains. He then turned his energy and skill into painting them in watercolor. His diligence in studying nature and refining his drawing and watercolor skills under the guidance of many local, national, and international teacher/artists, resulted in hundreds of expert watercolors featuring the barns, horses, cows, sheep and landscape of the Albany and Central New York area that he loved and knew so well. His work is a masterly example of design, composition, value control, color and watercolor technique.
Bob was also a strong, positive force in the local arts community. He served for 5 years as the President of the Bethlehem Arts Association, was elected to the board of Albany Center Gallery, and was a member of the Central New York Watercolor Society. His paintings have won numerous awards locally and regionally, and hang in homes and collections from Maine to California. His work has also adorned the cover of the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association
His talent, inspirational enthusiasm for life, generosity, and great sense of humor will be greatly missed. We feel sure, that wherever Bob is right now, he’s probably just finished watching a Yankee’s game and getting ready to bowl another 300.
